Two new pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, Vaxneuvance and Prevnar 20 are now incorporated into the CPP vaccine group purchase program. Both vaccines are FDA approved for adults aged 18 years and older.
The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted in October to update its recommendations on appropriate use of the Merck and Pfizer vaccines and if to incorporate them into the vaccine schedule. If confirmed by the CDC Director it will be published in the MMWR and incorporated into the 2022 CDC Immunization Schedule.
